Our Programs
The Conservation Club holds events, activities, and fundraisers throughout the year that support ongoing youth and adult education and conservation efforts. See links below for details.
Daniel Boone Day
August
Guests are invited to compete in various target competitions, shooting events and gun raffle.
Also youth safety instruction. Bring the family and experience the fun, with refreshments available. Click above link for more info.
King of the Ice
February
Winter anglers from all over the region compete at White Lake. Prizes are awarded in various categories, and the over-all winner is crowned "King of the Ice." Click the above link for further details.
Archery Youth Camp
July
The Conservation Club along with the Sullivan County Archers sponsor this free archery youth camp that provides kids with the skills necessary to earn their bowhunting certificate. For details, contact Harry Walker at
Hunter Education
Ongoing
The club teaches new hunters about safe and proper game management through DEC Hunter, Bowhunter, and Trapper Education courses. Please email or check the calendar for the next scheduled program.
Firearm Safety
Ongoing
NRA certified instructors hold classes to teach and promote proper firearm and personal safety, and offer certification courses for those interested in instructing. Please email or check the calendar for any scheduled programs.
Fish Stocking
Ongoing
The Conservation Club's ongoing restocking program helps reintroduce and maintain local game fish populations. Spring and fall release dates will be added to the club calendar as they are scheduled.
Scholarships
May
College Scholarships are awarded annually to local students. Applicant should be a club junior member, with preference given to those pursuing an accredited conservation, biological-science, agriculture or related program. Applications should be submitted by May 1st. See the linked application for more information.
DEC Youth Camp
Summer
Each year, the club sponsors junior members age 11-14 to attend the DEC summer camp program in DeBruce. Check out the DEC website at www.dec.ny.gov/education/29.html for more info on the program. Application details will be emailed to club members when available.
Youth Shooting Sports
Summer
Summer program for kids 12 and older. We believe that today's youth are the ones who will support tomorrow's future environmental and conservation programs. Getting them involved at a young age will help encourage safe sportsmanship and a greater appreciation of the outdoors. Room is limited so contact us if interested.
Monticello High School Trap Team
Conservation Club brings Trap Shooting to Monticello High School!
The Conservation Club received the support and approval of the Monticello School Board to help organize the new Monticello High School Trap Team in time for the Spring 2017 season. The organizational meeting was covered by the Sullivan County Democrat (Click here for link) Monticello H.S. is now part of the New York State High School Clay Target League, competing online against other schools throughout the state.
